My vintage stamp book.


 My grandfather  used to keep the old stamps he collected in safekeeping .later, I collected those stamps and created a stamp book.It contains very valuable old stamps of different countries and stamps collected by me nowadays.


 Sri lanka was called celone during the colonial era when our country was established.some stamps  belonging  to that era are shown in the following pictures.

 The image of the rulers of the england royal family is mostly seen.also some stamps created including important places,local crops ,famous people  and endemic animals of our country are given below .

 yudagana lake  Yudagana  lake is located about one and a half  miles from Buttala town.it is believed that this lake was built during the reign  of Mahanaga.it is said that the raw materials for the production of the construction of the historical yudagana dagaba were  obtained from this lake. Buduruvagala

 Buduruvagala  Buduruvagala temple can be reached by going about three miles along the Thanamalvila road from wellawaya town and taking the side road Buduruvagala is famous for the huge buddha and bosat images carved out of black rock.The name Buduruvagala is also created from the of meaning of the stone from which the image of the buddha was carved.The surface of this rock,which is about seventy feet wide,is flat.The rock where this statue is carved is located above Buduruvagala lake.Because of a big rock similar to the style of an elephant the height varies from place to place,and Buddha image has been carved at the highest place.It seems that the so feet tell statue of Buddha,Which Occupies the leading place here,was carved out of stone and completed with lime plaster.This sculpture tradition is called "Chitrabhasa tradition'.On both sides of Buddha other images are clustered.It is reasonable to conclude  that this Buddha statue is an image of Dhyana Buddha due such...
